On 19 March 2021 the Money Changers’ Guild presented the project “Laser scanner survey and digital photogrammetry”, conducted by Archimede Arte with the significant contribution of the Perugia Savings Bank Foundation. The “most beautiful bank in the world” has been totally digitized, including property and works of art, with georeferenced surveys integrated with photogrammetry techniques. The Ancient Seat of the Money Changers was also monitored with thermographic surveys, with the aim of ascertaining its condition with extreme precision. The innovative digitisation techniques make it possible to protect artistic masterpieces in advance and also open up unprecedented study scenarios. In fact, the meticulous and detailed photographic reconstruction allows art historians to carry out more in-depth evaluations on frescoes by Perugino and his collaborators.
